Healthy Me, Physical Me, Happy Me!

As a school, we put the health and wellbeing of our children and staff at the heart of education. We are proud that our hard work has been recognised, with us achieving a fantastic ‘Gold’ School Games Mark, ‘Gold’ Active 30 Durham Award and being awarded the winners of the 17/18 County Durham ‘Primary School Contribution to Sport & Physical Activity‘ award, for the East and South-East region.

We take great pride in knowing that EVERY child participates in at least 30 minutes of physical activity everyday and that EVERY child participates in inter and intra school competitions, representing themselves and our school with self-confidence and determination.

As a whole school, we work extremely hard to engage our children in a range of daily physical activities including a daily mile, Y5 playground leaders, extensive playground equipment, a newly built MUGA facility, disco dancing, HIIT workouts, high quality led PE lessons and specialist local coaching. All of which, we ensure is accessible to every child, of any age and ability. Our Physical Education curriculum is both broad and balanced, delivering the key skills and beyond! Our annual Sports week is always an astounding success among our children and staff!

London 2012 Guard of Honour

Following on from our schools’ momentous achievements in 2012,  with pride and dedication we continue to promote the values of the memorable London 2012 Olympic Games. Every child has the potential to dream big, to achieve their own personal goals! Whether it be as an athlete, coach, news reporter, photographer or games organiser. We are always looking for new ways to innovate our vast and exciting opportunities that we offer within our extremely active school.
