School Office

Our School Office Staff are here to help you, however here are a few items that may be useful to parents and carers which you can view or download from our website.

Communication with Parents

We communicate with parents in several ways. Regular newsletters give details of school life and activities. Newsletters are sent out via email and they are also uploaded on to our school website.  We use a text messaging system to send quick messages to the first priority contact.  Class Teachers use Tapestry (Reception Class) and SeeSaw (Years 1-6) to communicate with Parents.

School Day Timings

  • Morning session: 9.00am – 12noon

  • Afternoon session: 1.15pm – 3.15pm

  • Morning session: 9.00am – 12noon

  • Afternoon Session: 1.00pm – 3.30pm

There is a morning break of 10 minutes (10.30am – 10.40am) and also an afternoon break of 10 minutes

Parents are advised that children should not arrive in the playground before 8.50am without supervision.  In inclement weather, children are allowed into the building at 8.50am.

We experience great difficulties with regard to congestion in the roads surrounding the school. We are faced with both safety issues and conflict with local residents. Parents travelling by car are reminded to take great care approaching the school, particularly when dropping and collecting children. The entrance to Staintondale is marked with double yellow lines. Please do not park too near as this can restrict the children’s view when crossing the road. Parents are requested to drive further along Staintondale, where there are no houses overlooking the road, to drop their children off. Further information is available in the School Prospectus.

Head Lice

We have provided an information leaflet to help parents and carers identify and deal with Head lice. Please view or download by clicking the link below:

School Absence

Unauthorised absence means any absence (whether condoned by the parent or not) which is not covered by the following:

  2. medical or dental treatment
  3. school generated absence (e.g. educational visit/sporting activity)
  4. receiving part-time education elsewhere during school time
  5. exclusion from school for disciplinary reasons
  6. other circumstances authorised by the Head Teacher

All other absences All other absences from school, for whatever reason, are therefore unauthorised and unlawful and may result in a referral to the Attendance Improvement Team. We have provided further information regarding our approach to School Holidays during term time.

Whilst we try our best to address all situations carefully and correctly, should you feel the need to make a complaint you can find out how through our Complaints Policy which you can find in the School Policies section of our website.
