Weekly Assemblies at Byerley Park Primary School
Mrs Dunn leads our 'Picture News' assembly every Monday morning. In these assemblies, children explore recent current affairs and spark their interest in the world around them. They are asked open questions with lots of meaningful discussion and debate.
Our 'British Values' play an important role in these assemblies with each assembly theme having a focus on either Democracy, Individual Liberty, Tolerance and Respect and Rule of Law.
TUESDAY
Mrs Plumb leads a Tuesday 'Singing' assembly with an aim of singing together to create a sense of joy, security and positivity to help lift mood and foster a happier school environment.
It provides a healthy way for children to express their feelings, manage anxiety and build resilience. On a termly basis, song choices are selected by the children and cover a genre of different music styles from modern pop music to cultural sounds.
